Outline of Annual Research Achievements

中間赤外線天文観測により，酸化的な進化末期の恒星(漸近赤色巨星)や若い恒星周囲(原始惑星系円盤)に，珪酸塩や酸化物などの微小鉱物(1ミクロン程度)が一般的に存在することが明らかにされてきた．晩期型巨星で凝縮したダストは，中心星からの質量放出風により星間空間に放出され，一部は太陽系母体の分子雲，さらに原始太陽系円盤に取り込まれ，太陽系の原材料物質となったと考えられている．始原的隕石中にまれに含まれるプレソーラー(太陽系前駆)粒子は，進化末期の巨星(AGB星)や超新星爆発に特有の同位体組成を示すため，進化末期の恒星でできたダストの生き残りである．赤外観測スペクトルを用いて進化末期の恒星に存在する星周ダストを調べること，また，プレソーラー粒子を分析し，進化末期の恒星から初期太陽系までの様々なプロセスを遡って読み解くこと，の二つを組み合わせることで，ダストの形成から太陽系の材料物質となるまでを明らかにすること目指して研究をおこなっている．

本年度は，昨年度に引き続き隕石中アルミナ粒子の内部結晶構造解析をおこない，自形のプレソーラーAl2O3１粒子中に26Mgが濃集した変調構造をもつコランダムを発見した．他にも，粒子内部の晶出もしくはコランダム成長時に捕獲したと考えられる酸化チタン，Cr, Mnとの化学反応の証拠を見出した．これらは，プレソーラー粒子形成後の変成過程を示した初めての物質科学的証拠と考えられる．昨年度までの成果と合わせて，プレソーラー粒子の鉱物学的特徴と宇宙化学的特徴から，進化末期星でのコランダム形成と変成シナリオを提案した．北海道大学でのイオン照射実験から，宇宙風化によるコランダムの表面構造変化が照射イオンのエネルギーに依存することを明らかにし，宇宙風化構造から粒子線照射条件が推定できる可能性を示した．
