シグマ陽子散乱実験によるクォーク描像に基づいたバリオン間力の研究

Research Abstract

25年度は試作Cylindrical Fiber Tracker (CFT)の製作とそのビーム試験を予定通り行った。試作CFTは本実験で使用する実機と同サイズであり、構造的に複雑なCFTの開発の実証とその性能の確認を主な目的として開発された。試作CFTはビーム方向にファイバーを張る、通称φ面と、らせん状にファイバーをまきつける、通称UV面から構成され、全読み出しチャンネル数は1200ch程度となった。特にUV面はらせん状にファイバーをまきつけるという工作上の困難があるが、これを達成することが出来た。ビーム試験は東北大学サイクロトロンRIセンターにおいて、陽子ビームを用いた性能評価を行った。その結果から、CFTは十分な性能を有しており散乱断面積を測定することが出来ることがわかった。
次に、読み出し回路に関して述べる。本実験でCFTを読み出すための高集積MPPPC読み出し回路の開発を行った。本回路はVME 6U規格の基板に2個のEASIROCチップを搭載することで、64chのMPPCを一台で読み出すことの出来る回路である。この回路により、MPPCの読み出し単価を1500円まで下げることが出来た。
我々の最終目的はバリオン間相互作用の一般的理解であり、その中でもとりわけ重要なΣp間の研究をJ-PARCで行う予定であった。ところが、25年度6月にJ-PARCで放射能漏洩事故があり予定されていたビーム計画が白紙、および遅延となってしまった。そこで、私は博士論文のためにテーマを関連研究であるJ-PARC E10実験に移し、核中でのΣN相互作用の研究を行うことにした。その結果、核中でのΣN相互作用の性質が、原子核の構造に依存することがわかった。また、その結果を日本物理学会で報告した。
