Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は，ファイバーに付随するトーリックイデアルに関する研究成果を論文としてまとめる作業と，A-超幾何系の統計学への応用の二つに取り組んだ．
統計モデルに付随するトーリックイデアルの構造を調べることは，統計的仮説検定への応用に向けて重要な意味をもつ．本研究は，具体的な統計モデルに付随するトーリックイデアルに対して，その生成系と等価なマルコフ基底の導出とその仮説検定への応用を目標とする．これまでの研究では，ランキングに関する統計モデルの一つであるBirkhoffモデルに付随する配置行列の一般的構造に着目し，ある配置行列のファイバーに付随するトーリックイデアルの性質を調べてきた(古山貴之氏，竹村彰通教授との共同研究)．本年度は得られた結果について考察を深め，論文の形にまとめた．
統計的推測では，条件付き尤度の規格化定数の計算が問題となることがしばしば起こる．本研究は，超幾何関数論の分野で重要な偏微分方程式系の一つであるA-超幾何系を利用して，特定のモデルの場合に条件付き尤度の規格化定数計算を効率的に行う手法の構築を目標とする．高山信毅教授，竹村彰通教授との共同研究により，超幾何関数論の分野で最近得られた隣接関係式を利用することで，二元分割表の特別なモデルの場合に規格化定数を効率良く計算する手法を提案した．実データを題材に，提案手法が正しい計算結果を与えることを確認した．提案手法は，観測される頻度が増大しても，計算に必要な演算の回数の増加が緩やかであるという利点をもつ．
