Research Abstract |
(1) Development of the ultrafast imaging microspectroscopy system We have developed the system for optical investigation of light-induced dynamics in semiconductor nanostructures. The system is composed of an imaging microscope and a timeresolving laser facility based on optical parametric amplifiers. The microscope has active-feedback-controlled translation stages, establishing high spatial resolution (~ 1?m) and long-term stability. The timefesolving optical system has a picosecond temporal response (~ 2ps) using optical Kerr shutter technique with CS_2 as a Kerr medium. (2) Optical investigation of semiconductor nanostructures We have investigated the optical properties of various semiconductor nanostructures as follows. ・ Multiexciton states and extraordinary anti-Stokes luminescence of GaAs/AlGaAs quantum dots. ・ Transient excited-state absorption of excitons and biexcitons confined in CuCl quantum dots. ・ MBE growth of CuCl thin fikns/nanostructures and their optical properties.
