Research Abstract

Fetal wounds mede at some developmental stages regenerate quickly and completely. This regeneration could be the model of regeneration in mammals. We found that the embryonic dermal but not fascial mesenchymal cells play key roles in cutaneous regeneration. This project aimed to investigate the cell marker to distinguish cell marker to distinguish cells that have a capacity to regenerate skin. By using DNA microarray and immunohistochemistly, we found that integrin alphaV, and Rac-1 are expressed exclusively in fetal dermal mesenchymal cells. In the future these result will be useful to find out the cells that have a potent capacity to regenerate skin.
