Research Abstract |
This study had the following 2 purposes : To expand findings obtained in our previous study in an institution, the special characteristics of surveyed institutions are eliminated, and districts for the survey are extended. To construct a database from collected data for practical use, a database accumulation environment is produced. 1.Survey of nursing diagnostic characteristics diabetic neurological/vascular complications In this survey, data on 271 patients with diabetes mellitus were collected. As a result, the diagnostic characteristics necessary for the identification of subjects for nursing to prevent diabetic foot lesions were the progression of complications, neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, foot deformation, and non-ulcerative skin lesions. As evaluation criteria, the usefulness of the touch test as a non-invasive assessment item could be also clarified. 2.Development of a system for the database accumulation environment Based on the questionnaire items used in the survey of patients, a database program that allows Web server management was produced. Using simulation data, search was performed on the screen using a commercially available internet browser. As a result, search and extraction of subject cases were also possible when conditions necessary for the identification of subjects were attached. 3.Future problems The serial procedures in this study allowed the identification of candidates for new nursing diagnosis. For validation, a follow-up survey of risk subjects is necessary. When a remote database for data accumulation is realized, a server management system with guaranteed safety should be established.
