Research Abstract |
(1) Development of Method to Analyze Receptor-G Protein Interaction : By using DEAE-adenov irus method, we developed an easy method to analyze receptor dependent activation of G protein. (2) Specificity and Mechanism of Receptor-G Protein Interaction : We analyzed (a) angiotensin II receptors (AT1 and AT2), (b) adrenergic receptors (β1-AR and β2-AR), and (c) mechanism of receptor-dependent activation of G protein. (3) Analysis of Drugs Acting on G Protein-Coupled Receptors : We analyzed activities of drugs working as agonists, antagonists, inverse agonists on G protein-coupled receptors. (4) Strategy to Make and Inprove Dominant Negative G proteins : We previously designed dominant negative Gsα (PNAS 96 : 499-504, 1999). By introducing newly discovered mutant Gα, we improved its activity.
