Research Abstract |
The short-term and long-term influences of internship experience affecting student's occupational consciousness were clarified through the questionnaire investigation for the students, who interned in the program provided by The Consortium of Universities in Kyoto. Firstly, The measure construction for measuring the short-term influence was tried. Students' free answers of expectations for the change of themselves after internship was summarized and 92 question-items were listed. Questionnaire was conducted before and after the internship training, 16 factors were found by factor-analysis. Growing of occupational consciousness in 9 factors among 16 factors was observed. Secondly, The follow-up survey for investigating the long-term influence was tried. Questionnaire investigation by the mailing method was conducted for the students who have completed internship program and are in employment. Consequently, it turned out that the unemployment rate is lower than 20-24 years old of whole Japan, that internship experience is useful for job-hunting actions, and that the association between internship place and job place is becoming stronger year by year. Furthermore, The students who experienced various posts and business as interns are highly motivated workers.
