Research Abstract |
We have conducted research on the attitudes of senior citizens toward the usage of computers. The results are : 60 % of them have a desire to use computers ; 83% feel that it is too difficult for them to use computers ; 75% show interest in computers. In addition, we have found a general reluctancy on the part of senior citizens toward using computers. In the future it will be necessary to develop a method whereby senior citizens will feel more comfortable with using computers. It seems that the participation in the community and lifelong study are needed for the senior citizen to have energy and to live alone in an aging society. In this paper, therefore, it was examined whether the senior citizen was capable of learning throughout his/her life by distance education, using the Internet.
