Besides studying previous research result of this area, the investigator asked the NGOs implementing the child abuse prevention education program for the collaboration for the research. 2 groups in 2 prefectures kindly accepted the research plan, 2)Secondary Analysis of the Questionnaires by NGOs To grasp the immediate response to the program, the investigator did the secondary analysis of one NGO's questionnaires filled just after the program. 2233 questionnaires from 60 classes in 21 elementary schools were analyzed. As the result, knowledge on the 3 important rights for the children were retained by 80% of respondents, which was much higher than 20 to 50% retain of the knowledge about victimization avoidance skills. The female respondents and respondents from developing area showed the higher score on knowledge. 3)Questionnaire Research and Analysis After pre-research survey, the questionnaire was composed with items such as victimization, solution, solution measures, helping experience, self-esteem index, alter-trust index, knowledge on program contents, impressions on the program. About 350 students from 11 classes of 4 elementary school s in 2 prefectures responded the questionnaires. 6 classes were experimental groups and 5 were control. To keep the condition as same as possible, the manual for the implementation of survey was prepared. As the result, there were victimization decline and mitigation of low self-esteem as the time effect, and improvement of self-reliance as the program effect. Pre-program data showed that the 2 components of self-esteem index contributed significantly to the victimization solution rats. As the conclusion, the investigator found the limited effect of the program.
