Research Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the training effectiveness and the positive changes of a participanton on the training course for homehelpers. Especially this study examine the positive changes of a participant on the attitude and behavior changes seen as the results of homehelper's training programs.
Data used in this study were obtained from the participants in training course for homehelpers. The dependent variables were the participant's positive changes of attitude and behavior for a homehelper. The independent variables were the participant's motive to be enrolled in a class at homehelper's training course, and the educational device by a teacher on the training course for homehelpers. The analysis of this study was done by logistic regression analysis.
The results were as follows :
1) if the participants was entered for the training course to obtain a homehelper's license or to be fired from their own job, these reasons decrease the positive changes of a participant for homehelper. 2) if the participant was entered for the training course to contribute a community, this reason increase the positive changes of a participant for homehelper. 3) if the participants was educated about the socially disadvantaged people by a method to feel their reality, this educational method increase the positive changes of a participant for homehelper.
By these results, it was suggested that 1) participant's motive to be enrolled in a class at homehelper's training course, and 2) the educational device by a teacher, are important to develop a good training program and curriculum for homehelpers.
