Research Abstract |
Purpose : In order to help improve quality of teacher education of nursing, we examined characteristics and features of faculty member's educational background, their duties, sense of satisfaction, problems they have and so on, contrasting three kinds of school of nursing at which they work to each other : a three-year vocational college of nursing, a three-year junior college of nursing, and a college nursing. Object and methods : 997 faculty members of nursing were the subjects of this analysis. The questionnaire, based on the frame of the investigation, were used for data collection. The data was analyzed using chi-square test. Result : we discovered that educational practice very by the institute and duty position. It was shown that the assistants have more problems in the education practice than professors and assistant professors. If we compare these results with those of the investigation done in 1986 by us, the faculty members are now having more difficulty in acquiring the nursing practice abilities that meet the individual differences and characters of each student. Conclusion : These results suggest the problems to be solved concerning the teacher education of nursing
