Research Abstract |
The impedance bandwidth of a half wavelength slot antenna backed by a cavity is about 5% and the wider bandwidth is desired for a cavity backed slot antenna In the first year a half wavelength slot antenna with two parasitic slots are investigated and the bandwidth of 11% is obtained. The goal of the research this year is the impedance bandwidth of 10-15% In the second year a cross loop slot antenna is investigated. The bandwidth of 17% is obtained with a smaller size of the cavity compared to the first year's results. The goal is the bandwidth of 15-20% In the third year an S-type slot antenna, is investigated and the bandwidth of 23% is obtained. The goal is the bandwidth of over 20% The cross loop slot antenna investigated in the second year has a large cross polarization component and the modified cross loop slot antenna is investigated for circular polarization, Good axial ratio and good impedance matching are obtained in the same frequency band Calculated and measured results for the developed antennas are in good agreement
