Research Abstract |
(1) A cross-cultural research of kansei Kansei (Japanese) means a psychological feeling of a new coming product and an appropriate technology treating kansei is Kansei Engineering, which was founded by Professor Mitsuo Nagamachi at Hiroshima University about 30 years ago. Kansei Engineering is defined as an ergonomic and consumer-oriented technology of a new product development based on Customer Satisfaction Philosophy. It has spread out in the world and many universities started to study in many countries. One of the present research objectives was the comparison between Japanese and Swedish kansei and we conducted a basic research on kansei evaluation of a rectangular parallelepiped with highest variation. We found there were a correspondence of kansei response and not correspondent reaction dependent on kansei words. there emerges linearity on [large-small], [heavy-light] kansei, but【○!2】 we had non-linearity features on [beautiful-not beautiful], [graceful-not graceful]. We treated kansei data analyzed by statistical analysis when we constructed a computer system for designing so far. By factor analysis, we made clear the linearity kansei and non-linearity kansei in this research. (3) Mathematical model of non-linearity of kansei Kansei Engineering is able to contribute with designers in constructing a new product design using an assisted computerized system. Until the present, we estimated all kansei have linearity characteristics and constructed a computerized system with statistically analyzed data. In the next stage, we have to implement in the new system, which is feasible the treatment of non-linearity of kansei. We attempted those non-linear characteristics of kansei with polynomial equations and we were successful within three-dimensional expression. In this paper, we tried to implement in the system Genetic Algorithm and Rough Set theory. Both models are able to treat all kinds of data, regardless of linearity or non-linearity, and we constructed algorithm following the models, which is able to treat kansei database in a computerized system.
