Research Abstract |
This study aims to establish polyploid cells and to examine transformation in the cells. We have established polyploid Meth-A cell lines (4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, 12-, 16-and 18-ploid) and polyploid V79 cell lines (3-, 4-and 6-ploid). The transformation through polyploidization has been reported for the temperature dependence, serum concentration dependence and expression of cell-surface hydrocarbon chain. This study intends to change a concept that chromosomes are independent each other in cells. I have made a model (genome-fractal structure model) based on the model that Manabu Takahashi (emeritus professor of Yamaguchi University) has introduced, and explained the experimental results using the model (Cell Prolif. 2002, 2003). In order to enlighten about DNA structure in cells, I have published two books (the one is of translated book of Manabu Takahashi). A half of this RESEARCH RESULTS will be described for the genome-fractal structure model.
