Research Abstract |
Micromanipulation of fetal cells, in combination with FISH technology, even if present some limitations, especially high cost and intensive labor, gives the great advance to allow one to retrieve exclusively cells that are fetal in origin, avoiding or minimizing maternal cells contamination ; in addition, FISH technology beside its limits, permits to analyze multiple chromosomes at the single time for non invasive prenatal diagnosis of the most common aneuploidies. However, what we believe most important is to bring additional information and further confirmation that Fetal Cells Analysis in Maternal Blood, using different enrichment procedures in combination to sensitive analysis techniques, may applied within the near future to prenatal non invasive diagnosis of genetic diseases.
