Research Abstract |
We analyzed the comprehensive gene expression analysis of Pkd1^%, using cDNA microarray. We extracted the mRNA from E14.5 fetus kidney, and applied mRNA onto DNA chip containing more than 3000 genes. We identified that POLD1 (DNA polymerase delta catalytic subunit-1) was up-regulted in null mice. Interestingly, apoptosis driving genes such as caspase 1, 7, 11 and IL-1b, Transcription factors such as GATA2, Lbx, 1 and jun D1, a cell cycle related gene were down-regulated in null mice. Based on these data, renal cystogenesis involved the defected apoptosis pathway and stimulated cell cycle turnover.
