Research Abstract |
According to the research project, how to improve mathematics learning has been studied from 2001 to 2004. For this purpose, the workshops were held in the Gakushuin University on every September and January in the yeas 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004. 1. How to teach new subject "Fundamentals of Mathematics" was studied. Especially textbooks of "Fundamentals" were read and discussed earnestly. 2. The head investigator studied curves of several kinds in Math-C of high-school mathematics and published a book titled "Geometry of plane curves" in 2001. 3. In order to activate mathematics studies in high schools, a new software has been developed which runs on hand held gaming systems. 4. Research results have been published three times and were distributed among mathematics educators including the Ministry of Education.
