Research Abstract

リーマン多様体の曲率と位相に関する研究は微分幾何学の中心的な課題のひとつである。我々はCat-空間及び内部距離空間の構造をその部分多様体論や大域解析学等のあらゆる角度から検討した。リーマン幾何学とアレクサンドロフ幾何学の研究は我が国で活発に行われ、本研究で我々は今年度主としてリーマン幾何学に関し、特にradial curvatureに関する研究を推進した。塩濱は糸川・町頭と共同でRadial curvatureに関するアレクサンドロフートポノゴフノの比較定理を一般化された測地三角形で証明した。更に塩浜は田中実・東海大学教授と共著でコンパクトなリーマン多様体のコンパクト化と最大直径定理との関係を放射曲率の条件下で明らかにした。この結果はSturmの比較定理の非コンパクト版と看做され、非コンパクト多様体の剛性定理を導いた。更に塩濱と猿子は放射曲率の条件下でハウスドルフ収束を調べ、次元が一定ではない極限空間があらわれる崩壊現象を調べた。この空間はアレクサンドロフ空間でもCAT-空間でもない内部距離空間である。斯様な内部距離空間の幾何学が新天地の開拓に結びつく事が期待される。我々はこれらの研究成果を国内外で発表した。北海道大学で平成15年8月に開かれた第50回微分幾何学シンポジウムに塩濱は招待講演『放射曲率の幾何学』を行った。研究協力者の近藤慶は佐賀大学に於て平成15年3月理学博士の学位を取得した。猿子は有界な全曲率を許容する回転面モデルを参照空間とする放射曲率の条件下で非コンパクト多様体のTits距離を導入し、スケーリング極限空間を求めた。この極限空間はアレクサンドロフ空間でもCAT-空間でもない特異内部距離空間である。
