Research Abstract

グラフ上で定義される各種の非線形系のダイナミクスについて研究を行った.特に,グラフの幾何学的,位相的性質がダイナミクスとどう関わっているかについて考察した.研究対象となる非線形系としては,平均曲率流に従う界面ダイナミクス,反応拡散方程式および,べきの形の非線形項を含む放物型あるいは楕円型方程式が考えられるが,本年度は特に,3重結節点を持つ界面のダイナミクスについて調べ,以下のような成果を上げた.
まず,3重結節点を持つ平均曲率流に対し,定常界面の安定性に関する理論的,数値解析的検討を行った.2個の3重結節点を持つ界面に対しては,前年度の研究によってその安定度を定める特性関数を導いたが,今年度は多数の3重結節点を持つ界面に対して同様の結果が得られるかどうかについて考察し,特性関数の具体形を決定することに成功した.また,この特性関数の符号と境界の曲率の符号から不安定次元を与える公式を導いた.さらに数値シミュレーションの結果と比較検討した.
次に,与えられた領域において,定常状態が存在するための条件について調べた.これは古典的なFermat-Steiner問題と関係する興味深い変分問題であるが,境界条件の違いから自由度の高い難しい問題となる.一般の領域では不十分な結果しか得られなかったが,凸領域においては少なくとも1個の定常状態の存在を示すことに成功した.また,この結果が複数の3重結節点を持つ場合にも拡張されることを示し,存在を示す過程において,自然に不安定次元が計算できることを明らかにした.さらに,定常解が存在するための条件が持つ幾何学的意味について明らかにした.
