Research Abstract

機能性分子の積層化についてはすでに数多くの報告があるが、その構造が原子・分子レベルで制御された例はない。本研究は、結合性官能基の選択によって、機能性官能基の配向・配列と機能性官能基間の距離を制御しつつ積層化を行い、分子スーパーキャパシタを構築しようとするものである。
本年度は、前年得られた結果を元に、以下の研究を実施し、初期の目的を達した。
1.表面反応性の評価
積層反応のキー反応としてアミド化およびエスラル化を採用し、まず金表面にカルボン酸末端を持つウンデカン酸チオール(MUA)単分子層を構築し、フェロセン環にアミノ基あるいは水酸基を持つ分子との反応性を電気化学的に評価した。アミド化がほぼ定正的に進行するのに対して、エステル化の収率は低かった。
2.フェロセン分子の多層集積
フェロセン環にチオール基とカルボン酸基を持つ分子を合成し、金表面にまず単分子層を構築し、その電気化学特性を評価した。ついで、フェロセン環にアミノ基あるいは水酸基を持つ分子を末端カルボン酸基との反応を利用して集積を試みた。1.での結果と同様、アミド反応による集積の方がはるかに効率良く進行した。
3.電気化学性質を持つ金ナノクラスターの集積
1,2では共有結合による集積を試みたが、より効率的な集積を目指して、フェロセンチオールとMUA単分子層で保護した金のナノクラスターをカチオン性ポリマーを結合体として静電的に集積した。20層まですべてのフェロセン基が電気化学的に活性であり、非常に大きな容量が得られた。
