Outline of Annual Research Achievements

From 1st April to 30 June 2015, I finalized the book chapter "Enhancing global social development cooperation" jointly with Professor Surender. The chapter is part of a book on "Future directions in social development" edited by Prof. Midgley (Univ. of California Berkeley, USA) and Prof. Pawar (Univ. of Charles Sturt, Australia) to be published by Palgrave Macmillan.
With the use of NVivo qualitative data analysis software, I conducted further interview data analysis for the production of a journal article on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of emerging countries in shaping global social discourse. Likewise, I continued working on the book "Sino-African development cooperation: Implications for global social policy and governance" which presents and examines the main findings of the current research proposal.
I attended the international conference "The worlds on inequality" (16-19 June 2015, London) organized by the British International Studies Association (BISA). Among other themes, the conference addressed the issue of "what the emergence of 'rising powers' (like China) means for the contours of global inequalities of power, wealth and security in the future". I met with Prof. Surender (Univ. Oxford) to discuss future collaborative projects in the field of global social policy and global health. I also presented my main research findings at the United Nations University in Tokyo and worked, together with Prof. Kaasch and Agartan, on the organization of a panel on "Global Health Policy: From the MDGs to the SDGs" for the next 2016 ISA conference.
