Outline of Annual Research Achievements

大規模野外移入操作実験の結果がすべて出そろい、植物の成長率などに関する各種パフォーマンスデータ、次世代シーケンサーを活用した根圏菌類群集のメタゲノムデータ、土壌や葉の化学分析データ、植物体上に成立する節足動物群集データなど、全てのデータを統合的に解析することが可能となった。昨年度得られていた次世代シーケンサー・データ2種類のクラスタリング、OUTの同定作業を終了することができた。そこでGSJrで得られたデータとMiSeqで得られたデータの量と質の比較し、シーケンスデータを活用した統計解析の手順、植物-土壌フィードバックの方向性と強度を定量化する指数、論文受理を視野にいれた改訂の戦略について共同研究者と議論を重ねた。とくに、アーバスキュラー菌根性樹種と外生菌根性樹種のいずれを親樹(菌根菌の接種源となる樹木)もしくは実生(菌根菌に未感染な新規加入個体)の用いるかに応じて、樹種の組み合わせだけでは説明できない実生適応度のばらつきが生じたことについて踏み込んだ議論を行った。こうした菌根タイプに依存した樹木間相互作用が森林の遷移や成り立ちにおいてどのような役割を果たしているのかについて考察した。本研究により、菌根菌が森林生態系の遷移にどのように関与しうるのかを実証的に明らかにすることができた。菌根菌介在型の植物土壌フィードバックに関するこれまでの研究について総括することで、本研究の成果を生態学のより大きな枠組みのなかで位置づけることが可能となると考えられる。
