Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は宇宙マイクロ波背景放射の偏光パターン"Bモード"を観測する事によって、初期宇宙の探索を行う事を目的とした研究である。本研究ではPOLARBEAR-2実験と呼ばれるBモードの偏光パターンをチリで精密観測する実験に参加し、精密観測に必要不可欠な受信器システムの開発を行った。私たちの受信器システムは7588個のTESボロメーターを搭載する事で大統計観測を実現する。さらに95GHzと150GHzの周波数帯で測定を行う事で系統誤差を抑制できる。このシステムは、従来の装置の延長技術による実現は困難である事が知られている。特に受信器システムを実現する為には、大型口径の受信器システムを支える低温屈折光学系の構築と、綿密な熱設計が必要不可欠である。報告者は特にこれらの問題に取り組み、これらの技術を実現した。
まず、報告者は屈折光学系のレンズ素材の実測定を行うことでアルミナ光学系の選定に強く貢献した。報告者は実際にアルミナのレンズを３枚開発し、光学試験を行う事で技術実証した。そして、アルミナ光学系の性能を大幅に向上する為に、新しい反射防止膜の開発を行い実現した。これら一連の技術は論文および国際会議で発表した。
さらに、綿密な熱設計を構築する為に必要不可欠な赤外線防止フィルターを新しく開発した。従来の赤外線防止フィルターはプラスチックが使用されて来たが、大型システムではフィルター自身の温度上昇が見られる事が知られていた。そこで報告者は従来の1000倍の熱伝導率を持つアルミナ赤外線防止フィルターを開発する事に成功した。これらの一連の技術は海外の他の実験でも採用されており、大型口径の実現する為のスタンダード技術の構築に貢献した。
これらの素子は実際の装置に装着し、プロトタイプの検出器を用いた統合試験で十分な性能を持つ事を
実証した。これら一連の評価を行う事で受信器システムの実現を達成した。
