Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度は片腕運動に着目した運動学習の統一理論モデルの構築と実証を行い、論文誌として結果を報告した(Takiyama et al., 2015, Nature Communications)。本年度は片腕運動のみならず両腕運動も統一的に扱うことができる数理モデルの構築に挑んだ。既存の数理モデルの多くは片腕運動のみに着目するか(Thoroughman & Shadmehr, 2000, Nature, Smith et al., 2006, PLoS Biol)、はたまた両腕運動のみに着目するか(Yokoi et al., 2011, J Neurosci)に別れており、片腕運動と両腕運動の運動学習を統一的に説明できる数理モデルは数少ない。特に、同じ片腕運動を繰り返しトレーニングした学習効果は両腕運動に60%程しか転移しないものの(Nozaki et al., 2006, Nat Neurosci)、様々な片腕運動を繰り返しトレーニングした学習効果は100%両腕運動に転移する(Wang et al, 2013, PLoS One)。これらを同時に説明できる数理モデルは未だに提案されていなかった。本年度は、右腕と左腕が同じ運動をする両腕運動に限定し、上記の結果を再現する条件を探り新たな数理モデルを提案した。結果として、様々な片腕運動を行っている時の神経活動の平均値が様々な両腕運動を行っている時の神経回路の平均値と一致するBalanced motor primitive frameworkが上記の結果を統一的に再現できる片腕運動-両腕運動の統一理論モデルとなりうることを数学的に示した(Takiyama & Sakai, 2016, Sci Rep)。しかしながら、まだ右腕と左腕が同じ運動をする両腕運動に限定していること、実験的実証がないことが問題点として挙げられるため、今後は更に洗練された片腕運動-両腕運動の統一理論モデルを提案することが望まれる。
