Research Abstract

H17年度は、米国LIGOグループとの国際共同研究の最終結果がまとまり、成果を論文および国際会議での発表に至った。
このことは本計画研究のもっとも大きな目的である「重力波イベントの相関解析による探索」が一応の成功を納めたことになる。
連星合体からのインスパイラル重力波探索については、TAMA DT8およびLIGO S2観測の同時観測データから、我々の銀河系について1年あたり49イベント以下(信頼度90%)という上限値を得た。
またバースト重力波については、h_<rss>>2x10^<-19>についておよそ0.2以下[トリガー/日](信頼度90%)の結果を得、これはLIGO S2単体での結果を更新し、TAMA実験との同時性を要求した解析による改善を示した。
本計画研究で世界に先駆けて行ってきたブラックホール準固有振動からのリングダウン重力波の探索については、TAMA DT6,7,8,9についての探索が行われ、我々の銀河系内での20太陽質量以下のイベントについて、3.4x10^<-2>[Hz]という上限値を得た。
これらの上限値は、天文学的には他の観測や予測に比して、まだ十分なインパクトをもつものではないが、重力波研究において国際協力あるいは先鞭をつけた手法によって、実データの解析から上限を得られたことは大きな価値をもつ。
