Research Abstract

低周波防振装置SAS(Seismic Attenuation System)の基礎技術開発は既に終了したので、その結果を元に、国立天文台にあるTAMA300へのSASインストールを開始した。これまでにTAMA-SASインストールは順調に進んでおり、近々その結果が出る予定である。
また、われわれはSuspension Point Interferometer(SPI)とよばれる、干渉計をセンサーとして用いた能動防振装置を開発中である。これは将来計画であるLCGTの防振装置として使われる予定である。LCGTでは鏡を低温に冷やすために、ヒートリンクを懸架系の一部に取り付け、排熱を行うが、その際にヒートリンクから逆に振動が混入してしまうという問題が存在する。SPIを用いると、このヒートリンクからの振動を能動的に抑えることができる。さらに、SPIは低周波まで防振性能を持つので、干渉計鏡の残留振動を大幅に抑えることができる。これは、干渉計の安定化につながり、動作点への引き込みが容易になったり、制御系からの雑音混入を低減できるなどの利点を生む。これまでにSPIの基本的性能の確認が行われているが、今年度はプロトタイプを製作して動作確認および性能評価を行った。
今回のプロトタイプ実験の結果を要約すると以下のようになる。SPIを用いることで、10Hz以下で雑音が下がっていることがわかった。雑音抑制比率は最大で100倍程度であり、低周波まで防振ができていることがわかる。SPIを用いると、用いない場合に比べてRMSが約1/9に低減された。また、地面振動から主干渉計の鏡までの伝達関数を、ダンピングマスに備えられたアクチュエータを用いて測定した。2.5Hzのピーク(Pitch方向の共振)を除くと、20Hz以下で防振比に大きな改善が見られた。20Hz以上は、測定装置の電気的なクロストークによって防振比が制限されている。この実験で得られた結果は、SPIを次世代大型干渉計に組み込むために重要なものであり、これによって低周波防振の道が拓けたといえる。
