Research Abstract

カオス的トンネル過程は,トンネル確率を担う複素軌道が,実カオス領域に存在するサドル型周期点から伸びる安定多様体に沿って実面に引き込まれることから起こる.一般に実カオス領域上には,指数関数的に多くのサドル型周期点が存在するため,トンネル確率を担うトンネル軌道も指数関数的に存在し,通常のトンネル過程に比較してトンネル確率を飛躍的に増大させる.このことがカオス的トンネル過程の大きな特徴のひとつであるが,さらに,一本のトンネル軌道が,規則領域(トーラス)とカオス領域の両方の性質を併せもつため,規則領域をトンネルによって通過する過程と,その後,実カオス領域を運動するプロセスとが独立ではなくなる.このことから,カオス領域で起こっている現象,たとえば,動的局在現象と,トーラス中をトンネル過程で抜ける過程とが互いに相関をもって現れることが期待される.実際,カオス領域で起こっている動的局在を,それぞれ,(1)雑音を印可する,(2)量子共鳴をおこす,の2通りの方法により無効化し(局在が起こらないようにする),古典カオス領域でおこっている(準実)トンネル軌道間の干渉を破壊すると,それに呼応して,トンネル確率が大きく増大することを見出した.通常,雑音などの外部環境と接触させると,トンネル確率が減少することが知られているが,カオス的トンネル過程では,指数関数的に多くのトンネル軌道が潜在的に存在するため,破壊的干渉で抑制されていた拡散過程がカオス領域でひとたび回復されると,虚実双方にまたがる複合体である複素軌道により芋蔓式にトンネル確率の増大をもたらす.複素軌道を介したトンネル描像の解明から予言されたひとつの帰結である.
