Research Abstract |
We find the following matters on our research program financially supported by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research of JSPS through 2002-2004 fiscal year. 1 As you could see on Microsoft cases in the US, EU, Japan and other countries, antitrust regulation to the "first runner" in IT fields is very important, though it would be highly nervous and problematic. 2 As changing to IT based economy, antitrust problems, eg., monopoly leverage, price squeeze, tacit collusion, and merger control, are focused and challenged dramatically. 3 Governmental regulations on telecommunications, air lines and media industries should be transformed to pro-competitive framework from existing position. 4 Better Balancing would be required between legal protection and fair use of intellectual property rights in order to achieve competitive development of inventions and creative expressions. 5 In IT based international transactions and dispute resolutions, international coordination would be pursued as well as domestic regulation reform.
