Research Abstract

In the research project, we treated the following seven sub-projects;
(1) Development of a robust and reliable supersensitive pressure sensor for the non-invasive bio-measurement. The condenser-microphone based sensor developed satisfies the specifications required for the bio-measurement.
(2) Development of a wireless low powered signal transmitter. The FM wireless transmitter consumes the power of 1.5mAx3V which is one of the minimum powered transmitters. It is effectively applied to the bio-measurement.
(3) Development of an LSI circuit for signal processing. A novel multi-functional LSI for the signal processing was designed and developed. The rail to rail, gyrator and new technology were employed for the development.
(4) Non-contact estimation of the sleep stage. Novel sleep estimation was presented, which estimates the sleep stage by the heart rate and body movements measured by the proposed pneumatic method. The vilification tests carried out over 40 nights demonstrated the validity of the method.
(5) Protection of the privacy of the patients. Strategies how to protect the privacy of patients were investigated. The clear strategy was not found.
(6) Psychological states of patients who use the proposed bio-medical measurement methods. The key results are the young ladies hardly accept the method, whereas the elders easily accept it.
(7) System integration. The knowledge obtained in the research project is integrated as a system realized by a micro-processor. The unit can measure the basic bio-signals and estimate the sleep stages by the proposed novel scheme.
