Research Abstract |
Plant succession in alpine and subalpine volcanic zones takes place very slowly. In recent years, the disturbance at subalpine zone on Mt.Fuji occured by human activity and many small avalanche. We tried to reserve natural area and to recovery disturbance area by transplantation. Seedling and sapling were grown at nurse bed on alpine zone and Shizuoka University. Investigation of Leguminosae plants, Alnus, Salix, Arabis were carried out. We investigated the abundance of different types of mycorrhiza associated with the herbaceous and woody plants in subalpine zone of disturbance area on Mt.Fuji. It was suggested that the cutting and planting methods on Salix reinii and Alnus maximovizii were very useful for the restoration at subarctic area on Mt.Fuji.
