| Research Abstract |
The aim of this project is to make research into Russian observations on international relations in Chinese Northeastern Province between the end of 19th centuries and 1930s. Russia started to construct Chinese Eastern Railway in Chinese Northeastern Province in 1896. The railroad was situated across Chinese North Eastern Province.
The Railway was sold by USSR to Manchukuo Governmet in 1935. The Company collected many informationson political and economic conditions of Chinese Northeast, Japanese activities in the area, international relations between China and Russia, and so on.
Chinese Eastern Railway's official documents are now owned by the Russian National History Archives(RGIA) at Saint Petersburg. Archives in Russian Federation have not been open to public untill 1990s. In 2002 and 2003, we carried out a survey on official documents of Chinese Eastern Railway Company at RGIA. We made an report entitled International Relations of Chinese Northeast Province; Annotated List of Selected Documents of Chinese Eastern Railway Company in RGIA.
