| Research Abstract |
1.Purpose and Plan of research
The purpose of this study is to research a process of forming new assemblage of stone tools in Holocene in Far East Asia through examining the materials in that area concretely. For this purpose we prepared tow major viewpoints. One is a researching the stone instrument assemblage and the technical bases of the first half of Holocene in China, Mongolia, Northern Siberia, Far East, the Korean peninsula and Japan. The other is researching the development of stone source mine and the change of delivering system that supported a technical change and diffusion of a stone instrument.

3.Summary of results
1)Researching of Paleolithic industry especially of Korea, it is considered that the formation of Upper Paleolithic in Far East Asia be regarded as appearance of stone spearhead as throwing hunting instrument
2)Although the major change of stone tools in transitional period in Southeastern Far East Asia is characterized by a appearance of spear and arrow based on enlargement of forest flora, the appearance time and composition of tools vary in each region, especially because polished stone tools are affected by raw material strongly, they have local characteristics.
