| Research Abstract |
A Shomono has been regarded as an important material for studying the colloquial of Muromati era. The purpose of the present study is to locate unstudied Shomonos and make a list.
(1) Survey-at-site
The survey-at-site was carried out at the following libraries.
National Diet Library, Tokyo National Museum, Ochanomizu Library, National Archives of Japan, Archives and Mausolea Department of Inperial Household Agency, National Museum of Japanese History, Seikado Library, National Defense Academy Library, Hosa Library, Library of Kyoto University, International Research Institute for Zen Buddhism, Tenri Library of Tenri University, Sakamoto Ryumon Library, Museum Reihokan Koyasan, Seiraizi temple etc.
(2) Bibliographical investigation
We made bibliographical investigation into the shomonos, especially the early movable-type printings.
(3) List production
We produced a list combining the Shomonos which had been surveyed by us, and published a part of the results of our studies in a journal "Diacritical Language and Diacritical Materials"
