Research Abstract |
The aim of this research is to investigate theoretically and experimentally the possibility of realization of RM-CW LIDARs, pseudo-randomly modulated CW laser radars, for measuring the atmospheric gas molecules related to earth warming and establish an RM-CW LIDAR mainly active in the wavelength region of the near infra-red. As the results of the theoretical simulation, it is found that it is possible to make an RM-CW LIDAR for atmospheric aerosol and water vapor. For the DIAL, differential absorption LIDAR, a laser emitting system with two CW lasers was made. A receiver is constructed with a 20cm diameter telescope, a PMT and an interference filter. In order to modulate the CW laser, the AOM devices were used. The CW lasers were tuned to the absorption lines of water vapor. The laser modulation was performed by a data generator based on the maximum shift register sequence.
