Research Abstract |
To clarify species composition of endophytic fungi and to monitor their seasonal variations in isolation frequency, we isolated fungi from symptmless organs of 5 tree species of Fagaceae (Fagus crenate, Quercus glauca, Q.gilva, Q.salicina and Pasania edulis) and Neolitsea serisea of Lauraceae after surface sterilization. In F. crenata, we also studied the effect of bagging on levels of endophytic fungal infection. Endophytic fungal infection was detected in all tree species studied. Fungal species composition of endophyte assemblages, their seasonal variations in isolation frequency and a part of life cycle of some endophytic fungi were clarified.
