Research Abstract

Research conducted two investigation. Research was done to those who live regionally, and those in the hospital.
◇Investigation of physical assessment conducted to those who live regionally.
Two researchers carried out physical assessment to 50 persons who are living in home for the aged. The result are summarized as follows.
1)A candidate's average age was 78.1 years old (46.95), 14 men, and 36.women.
2)It was the order of the ear, the eye, the musculoskeletal system, the abdomen, the skin, the mouth, the nose, th neck, the nervous system, the head, the lungs, the breast, and the cardiovascular, system that had many unusual views.
3)The unusual views discovered by assessment was three points of "a fall of the physiological function by aging", "a sign of a lifestyle" and "healthy obstacle being predicted."
4)Physical assessment becomes the will to which a candidate goes healthy, and an opportunity to reconfirm power. This is effective from the viewpoint of empowerment.
◇Investigation of physical assessment carried out to those who are in a hospital.
The nursing practice scene of 50 of ten nurses was observed. The result are summarized as follows.
1)The physical assessment skills currently performed in their nursing practice setting was a vital signs, assessment of skin, inspection of breast, auscultation of breast, auscultation of abdomen, inspection of abdomen, palpation of abdomen.
2)The effect of physical assessment was "The diagnostic and monitoring function" and employ a result in the determination of a care efficiently.
3)The physical assessment has the viewpoint of empowerment in the hospital.
