Research Abstract

反応活性な配位不飽和金属錯体を生成させるための代表的な手法として、かさ高い配位子を用いて配位子の数を制限するとともに金属の低会合状態を保持する方法がある。しかし、従来のかさ高い配位子を用いた場合、金属中心を低配位状態に置くことはできるものの、金属周辺の立体混雑のために逆に基質の配位を妨げ、反応性を低下させてしまうという本質的な問題があった。そこで本研究では、金属中心の周辺には空間を保持しつつ、分子全体の構造によって低配位状態を実現するようなボウル型およびデンドリマー型配位子の開発について検討した。遷移金属イミド錯体は、触媒的C=N二重結合形成反応の中間体と考えられているが、通常二量化により、不活性種へ変化しやすい。今回、独自に開発したボウル型イミド配位子を活用して安定なビス(イミド)モリブデン錯体を合成し、X線結晶構造解析により構造を決定するとともに、それらがイミンメタセシス反応の触媒として有効であることを明らかにした。また、平成15年度に開発したm-テルフェニルユニットを有するデンドリマー型シラノールを活用して、シリカ担持触媒によるオレフィン重合の重要な中間体と考えられているカチオン性モノ(アルキル)ビス(シラノラト)ジルコニウム錯体の合成および構造決定に初めて成功した。また、このシラノールに改良を加えてより深いキャビティをもつシラノールを合成し、トリ(アルキル)モノ(シラノラト)錯体の合成にも成功した。さらに、平成14年度に開発したデンドリマー型ホスフィン配位子を二相系触媒反応に活用するために、デンドリマーの末端部位にタグを導入したデンドリマー型フルオラスホスフィンおよび水溶性ホスフィンを合成した。3年間の研究を通じて種々の特色を持つボウル型およびデンドリマー型配位子を開発し、これらの分子骨格が、当初目的としたとおり金属上の配位子数の制御に極めて有効であることを実証した。
