新ナノ微粒子創製用ツインレーザ成膜装置の開発

Research Abstract

本研究は,2つの異なる波長(エネルギー)を持つ高出力パルスレーザを用いて、異なる材質の2つのターゲットを同時にアブレートし、それによって作製されたプラズマプルームを気相中で交差、反応させることによりクラスター同士の反応を促進し、新しいナノ新材料を創製することを目的とする。昨年度までにSimCnのアモルファス状薄膜の作製を行ってきた。本年度はこれを微結晶微粒子として作製することを試みた。また、同時にプラズマプルームの成長の様子を詳細に調べた。
1)微結晶微粒子の作製:ツイン(デュアル)パルスYAGレーザを用いてSiC薄膜の作製を行い、レーザのパワーや繰り返し周波数を制御することにより、化学量論的組成を持つ結晶性SiC薄膜の作製に成功した。また、この方法により、薄膜状にSimCnの一部結晶性を持つナノ微粒子(ドロップレット状のクラスター)が作製できることを明らかにした。今回は残念ながら、Si_<60>C_<60>と言ったような機能性ナノ微粒子の作製はできなかったが、今後継続した実験を行うことにより上記のような微粒子の作製も可能になると思われる。
2)プラズマプルーム観測システムの構築:作戦までに構築した発光分光装置と高速度ICCDカメラを用いて、ツイン(デュアル)パルスレーザデポジション中のプラズマプルームの形状やプルーム中の原子・分子の分布を調べた。その結果、プラズマプルームの発生・成長がそれぞれのレーザのフルエンスや繰り返しのタイミングにより変化することが明らかになった。このことは、プルームを交差させることによりナノクラスターの作製が可能であることを示している。今回は、交差したプルーム内部での反応を明らかにすることはできなかったが、今後継続した実験を行うことにより明らかにできると考えている。
