Research Abstract

原子内の電子の全てが励起軌道に押し上げられ、内側の殻が空孔になって膨らんだ、中空原子の構造と生成崩壊のダイナミクスの理論的研究を行っている.
昨年度に行った3電子系の研究に続き,本年度は,電子相関効果がより重要となる4電子励起状態に関しての動径相関についての研究を行った.まず,電子相関効果を取り入れるのに都合のよい超球座標系で,固有関数を効率よく計算する手法を開発した.そして,超球座標において,多電子励起状態の固有関数の構造が見通しよく分類できることを見出し,独立粒子座標でのものとの対応付けをした.
さらに,中空原子の生成・崩壊のメカニズムを深く理解するために,時間に依存する外場中での多電子励起状態の研究へと発展させた.ごく最近,パルスの時間幅が数百アト秒(1アト=10^<-18>)の超短パルスレーザーが実現された.これを用いると,パルス幅と同程度の時間スケールである中空原子状態のダイナミクスを実時間で分析することが可能であると考えられる.時間に依存する系の厳密計算を行うプログラムを開発し予備的な計算を行った.そして中空原子の集団運動モードが,このようなアト秒パルスによって実時間でプローブできることを理論的に示した.
また,超球座標による量子多体系の解析の拡張として,磁気光学トラップ中の希ガス原子ボーズ・アインシュタイン凝縮体の素励起に関する研究を行った.単極子および四重極子モードに関して,超球座標による表現と従来型のボゴリウボフ近似との比較を行った.
