Research Abstract

フェノールオリゴマーの分光学的性質における鎖長依存性及び水素結合様式依存性について調べた。
化合物の合成は、大部分は昨年度までに確立した手法を用いたが、水素結合様式依存性についての研究では、保護・脱保護についての新規な手順を検討し、確立させた。
オリゴマー鎖が伸張すると、1から2量体、2から3量体となるにつれ、新たな吸収帯が観測された。しかし4量体以上では、吸収スペクトル波形の特別な変化は見られなかった。一方で、吸収スペクトルの吸光係数、さらに発光係数には1〜6量体間で大きな鎖長依存性が観測された。
これらの現象は、溶媒を変えると異なる挙動を示した。そこで、溶媒から受ける影響について調べた。予備的実験により、溶媒の水素結合能が主たる要因であるような感触を得ていたため、基質-溶媒間に働く水素結合をさまざまに変化させる目的で、水素結合性の異なる10種類以上の溶媒について吸収及び発光スペクトルの測定を行うとともに、フェノールオリゴマーのヒドロキシ基の一部をメトキシ基に置換した化合物(ただし3量体)を用いて、同様の測定を行った。その結果、フェノールオリゴマーの分光学的性質には、会合の影響及び基質-溶媒間の水素結合の影響が極めて大きいことが見出された。この結果は、フェノールオリゴマーを分子素子のスペーサーとする場合の外的要因の影響を見積もるために、また外的要因により物性制御を行い際の指針を求める際に有用である。
また、分子素子においてフェノールオリゴマーの両端に置換しアンテナ部位/発光部位とするためのポルフィリン誘導体の合成研究にも着手した。今後は、両者を組み合わせることにより発現する特異な複合機能に注目して研究を発展させていきたい。
