Research Abstract

本年度の研究成果は以下の通りに大別される。
1.高圧縮率符号化のための3Dメッシュのパラメータ化
昨年度に開発したパラメータ手法を更に改善し、符号化を陽に意識したメッシュ正則化手法を提案した。これにより、従来法と比べて見た目の劣化を大幅に削減し、容易に非正則メッシュを正則メッシュに変換することができる。その後、実際に圧縮符号化に応用し、1/80もの圧縮が可能になることを実証した。
2.運動学を用いた動き情報の知的符号化とキーフレーム抽出
昨年度提案した、モーションキャプチャシステムにより取得された人間の動き情報を圧縮符号化する手法をさらに発展させ、圧縮率を大幅に改善した。線形予測を用いて時間域での冗長性を取り除くと同時に、逆運動学を用いて各ノード(関節)間の動きの相関を考慮することにより、高圧縮を実現した。また動きの特徴を抽出し、キーフレームを自動的に抽出する手法を操案した。これにより符号化後のCGアニメーション編集が容易になる。
3.リアルタイム3D映像伝送のための高速符号化手法
近年、リアルタイムで3D映像をモデリングする研究がいくつかの研究機関で行われ注目を浴びている。本研究では、そのモデリング後の3D映像を遠隔地に伝送するための圧縮符号化手法について研究を進め、一定の成果をあげた。実際にリアルタイムでの伝送実験を行い、符号化、モデリングなどの処理を含めて、約7fpsで動作することを確かめた。
その他にもディジタルフィルタに関する研究で業績をあげ、論文誌採択4件、国際会議発表12件(うち2件は来年度に発表)、国内発表4件の対外発表を行った。また、3Dモデル圧縮と、パラメータに関する特許を2件申請準備中(今年度末までに申請予定)である。
