The purpose of this investigation is to grasp the degree of teachers' understanding about child abuse & neglect and to advance effective ways to manage child abuse & neglect in school. 4 kinds of questionnaire research and 2 kinds of hearing research were carried out, Results are as follows :
1, 21.9% of objects had experience corresponding to an abused child.
2, The reason why teachers hesitate to notice to a child guidance clinic is for posture to have to support by own strength to a limit.
3, A difference was seen in a reason to doubt abuse and a way of thinking for notice by a sex difference and duties division.
4, Sensitivity for neglect is high in teachers.
5, Teachers do not think to be able to support for abuse by the present human placement.
6, For teachers, it is effective for understanding to child abuse to take a lecture about child abuse at a training stage.
7, Support by an increase of the staff depending on difficulty of guidance of children is necessary. Prior support should be given for a school having a child nursing institution in a school ward.
8, Depending on aging of a child, cooperation between kinds of school is needed.
9, It is desirable that the training about child abuse & neglect has different contents depending on duties division and the years of experience.
