Outline of Annual Research Achievements

色素増感太陽電池の高効率化のためには、表面積が大きく、かつ電子移動度が高い光半導体電極を合成することが必要である。本研究では、テンプレートとしてエチレングリコールを用いることで、水熱合成法でメゾポーラス構造の酸化チタンナノ結晶を合成し、溶質濃度がナノ結晶の形状、サイズ、構造、吸収光特性、発光特性、電子状態、光電変換効率等に及ぼす効果を調べた。
(1) チタンテトライソプロポキシドをエチレングリコール50 mLに加え、室温で5時間混合した。この溶液をアセトンとイオン水に加え、2時間攪拌することで懸濁液を得た。これをイオン水とエタノールに加え、遠心分離機で分離して凝縮物を得た。80 °Cで10時間乾燥させ、チタングリコール球を合成した。チタニウムテトライソプロポオキサイドが1.0、 1.5、2.0 mLの場合と比べ、0.5 mLの場合はメゾポーラス構造の酸化チタンナノ結晶が形成された。これを色素増感太陽電池の半導体電極として用い、光電変換効率9.02 %を得た。同様にテンプレートとしてカーボン球を用いてメゾポーラス酸化チタンナノ結晶を合成し、光電変換効率4.65 %を得た。
(2)エチレンジアミン(EDA)を有機皮膜剤として用いて、空洞を有する酸化チタン階層構造を作製した。0.4 Mのチタニウムテトライソプロポオキサイドを純水に混合し、EDA濃度を2、 3、 4 mLと変化させた。EDA添加量が高くなるにつれて、光電変換効率が高くなり、4 mLの時に光電変換効率5.27 %を得た。さらに、合成したメゾポーラス酸化チタンナノ結晶をメチレンブルー色素に混入し、可視光照射6分で浄化することを示した。
本研究では、様々な方法でメゾポーラス構造の酸化チタンナノ結晶の合成に成功し、光電変換効率に及ぼす効果を調べた結果、9.02 %を得た。また、高い光触媒効果を有することを明らかにした。
