Outline of Annual Research Achievements

近年の赤外線衛星の近傍の銀河及び星生成活動領域の観測から、従来考えられていた光解離領域に加えて、衝撃波により暖められていると考えられるガスを持つものも検出され、衝撃波がエネルギー収支に重要な役割を果たしていることが示唆されると同時に、銀河の赤外線スペクトルは非常に多様であることがわかってきた。銀河の星生成活動を理解するには、近赤外線から遠赤外線までの広い波長域のスペクトルを統一的に解析することが必要である。本研究では、「あかり」、スピッツァー、ハーシェル衛星による銀河系、近傍銀河の分光、撮像データを総合的に解析し、銀河内の個々の領域におけるガス、ダストの物理状態を導き、星生成活動過程との関連を明らかにする。昨年度はハーシェル衛星に搭載された長波長分光器SPIREのデータを波長による空間分解能の変化を考慮して解析する手法を確立させ、これを近傍銀河M83のデータや、竜骨座星生成領域のデータに適用した。今年度は、これに加え、竜骨座星生成領域のハーシェル衛星のPACSのデータを同様に解析し、特に光解離領域から放射される重元素の禁制輝線を用いて光解離領域モデルと比較して、この領域の物理状態を抽出することを行なった。さらにMXS, 「あかり」衛星の中間赤外線データも併せ、この領域のダストの性質を解析した。これと並行して「あかり」衛星のデータとハーシェル、スピッツァーが共通に観測した近傍銀河のリストを作成し、3つの衛星による近傍銀河の観測データの集約を行なった。
