Outline of Annual Research Achievements

マルチフェロイック材料研究においては走査プローブ顕微鏡SPMが大きなツールである。本研究では、圧電応答顕微鏡PFM、磁気力顕微鏡MFMの利用により、パルスレーザー堆積法(PLD法)により薄膜を成膜し、界面構造、圧電・強誘電・磁気特性を調べ、界面の微細構造・応力・歪みが特性に与える影響を明らかにすることを目的とし、特に歪みの効果について重点的に調べる。
強誘電体薄膜において圧力による強誘電ドメインスイッチの報告があることから、マルチフェロイック薄膜の場合においても強誘電ドメインスイッチが起こるかどうかを検証した。強誘電性と強磁性発現には膜厚が大きく関与するため、膜厚を変化させて強誘電ドメインスイッチ、強磁性ドメインスイッチの発現について調べた。
対象は、これまでの当研究グループで実績のあるBiFe03、Aurivillius系列Bi5FeTi3012およびBi6Fe2Ti3018、Bi7Fe3Ti3021である。薄膜成膜はPLD法、基板結晶としては汎用的なPt/TiO/SiO2/(100)Si基板、エピ成長可能な(100)SrTiO3基板とした。膜厚は50-400nmであった。
評価として、out-of-plane、in-planeモードでのマクロな強誘電特性、強磁性特性を調べた。さらにナノ特性として、SPMを用いた評価を実施した。評価項目はPFM、MFMによるドメインスイッチで、参考のため電気力顕微鏡EFM、非線形誘電率SNDM評価も実施し、結果の妥当性を検証した。SPMにおいてはカンチレバーバネ定数を変えることで測定荷重変化が可能で、それぞれの荷重におけるPFM、MFM、ドメインスイッチ現象について評価した。
国際会議(PFM2016・北京、ICCGE-18・名古屋、ISAF-ECAPD-PFM2016・ダルムシュタット)で研究成果を発表した。
