Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成28年度は、①研究成果発表、②昨年度に引き続き理化学研究所RIビームファクトリー(RIBF)を利用した実験準備を行った。
①昨年度、Physical Review Lettersに出版したAr-50でのN=32魔法数に関する論文が契機となり、Steppenbeck氏の世界的プレゼンスがさらに高まった。たとえば、原子核物理学分野の最大の国際会議INPCでの口頭発表者に選ばれ、成果発表を行っている。また、ポーランドで開催された原子核構造に関する国際会議では、招待講演を行っている。昨年度出版した論文の世界的なインパクトが大きいことを証明したといえる。RIBFのインビームガンマ分光の国際コラボレーションSUNFLOWERが主催するワークショップに出席し、これまでの進捗状況を報告するとともに将来の実験プログラムに関する議論に積極的に参加した。
②昨年度、研究代表者として申請し、承認されたTi同位体の電気四重極遷移確率の測定実験については、準備研究を行い、従来のガンマ線検出器アレイを改良して、検出効率を20%向上させた新しいアレイ構造をもつ検出器の開発を行った。彼の承認された実験は平成29年度に実施される予定である。また、彼は国際共同研究SEASTARのメンバーとして主体的に参画し、平成29年度に実施予定の実験準備を行った。この実験ではArおよびCa領域のN=34の魔法性に関する実験で、先述の新しいアレイを導入する計画を練り、また磁気分析装置SAMURAIを利用した反応生成物の粒子識別などを習得するためにSAMURAIを利用した他の実験にも参加した。
