Outline of Annual Research Achievements

〇本研究の目的は、強磁性体とスピン三重項型超伝導体の接合(F/T接合)素子を開発し、そこで現れるスピン三重項近接効果の研究から、従来の超伝導接合素子では得られなかった新奇な現象の確立を目指すことである。
〇これまでの研究で、超伝導体Sr2RuO4をT、強磁性体金属SrRuO3をFとして選択し、ソウル国立大学および理化学研究所・日本女子大との共同研究で接合素子の開発に成功し、京都大学でその特性を詳しく調べて論文発表した。そして引き続き、京都大学において、このSr2RuO4/SrRuO3/Au マイクロデバイスの電子輸送特性から近接効果を調べてきた。
〇その結果、超伝導体から常伝導金属に超伝導電子対が浸透する際に起こる、アンドレーエフ反射に伴う、コンダクタンスの上昇を明確にとらえた。つまり、超伝導電子対は強磁性体金属に長距離近接効果として浸透している。また、磁場中での特性から、接合界面に磁気的な不均一性が無い場合でも長距離近接効果が現れることを明らかにした。これらの結果から、初めて単純な構造の接合素子で、スピン三重項電子対の長距離近接効果を実現することに成功した。
〇この成果は、中国で開催された強相関電子系国際会議(SCES2016)を含めて、いくつかの会議やセミナーで発表した。さらに、Anwar博士を筆頭著者として、2016年10月にNature Communications誌に発表した。また、これまでの共同研究実績のあるオランダのライデン大学でも、この成果と今後の共同研究について相談した。
〇このような超伝導素子において、強磁性体の磁化の方向制御によって、長距離近接効果が制御できるようになれば、「スーパースピントロニクス(Superspintronics)」と呼ぶべき新しい分野開拓に貢献できる。
