Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The flood models were improved by using high resolution digital elevation models (DEM). Thus, the model were able to simulate with more detail the flood patterns, especially in urban areas. The flood simulation models were updated in order to cover more area. The area influenced by the Jirau dam covering territories of Brazil and Boliva was included. Thus, the research will analyse transboundary waters and transboundary floods. Besides, the research analyse the flood contribution of big economic development projects such as hydropower dams (The Jirau dam). The analysis of the climate change scenarios was improved by including more climate change scenarios.
