Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度までの米国マサチューセッツ工科大学における共同研究の結果に、日本で更なる電解液成分を分析する分光学的な実験データを加え、投稿論文にまとめて発表した。
また、昨年度まではトピックの一つとして有機電解液系の濃厚溶液中における脱溶媒和過程の特異性をグラファイト負極に焦点を当て検討を行ってきたが、本年度はさらに濃厚電解液の極端な例として非プロトン性イオン液体中にリチウム塩を濃厚に溶解させた系についても検討を行った。イオン液体中においては有機溶媒が存在しないため、アニオンによってのみリチウムカチオンが溶媒和される特異な条件となる。非プロトン性イオン液体中ではLi塩の溶解限界が一般の有機溶媒系ほど高くないため濃度増加にも有機溶媒系に比べ限度があるが、それでも濃厚領域においてFreeなアニオンの活量が減少し、電極反応電位が貴にシフトしていることが示された。ここで非プロトン性イオン液体中においてもGraphite負極の充放電挙動を確認したところ、TFSA系においては前年度までに検討した有機溶媒系と同様に濃度増大に伴い副反応が抑制されていく様が確認できた。
一方で近年着目されているFSA系イオン液体中においては低濃度であってもオニウムカチオン挿入は起こらず可逆な充放電挙動が得られた。ここでこの特異な挙動を調べるために本系においても過去の検討と同様にリチウム金属上における電極電位差を測定したところ、FSA系の方がTFSA系よりも同濃度でも高い電位を示すことが明らかとなった。しかしながらFSA系については特異な電極/電解液界面(SEI)を形成するという報告もあるため、今後より詳細な検討が必要となる。
